A Guide to the Nightmare on Grayson Scrapbook, 1996-2001
Nightmare on Grayson was San Antonio's largest annual haunted house, running from 1989 to 2012. Located in the old Double Cola building on 201 E. Grayson, Nightmare on Grayson claimed to be a true haunted house with histories of a mad soda chemist and murder. The attraction saw over 30,000 visitors a season, and was a Halloween staple in San Antonio.
The scrapbook was created by Gordon Wise, Director of Operations at Nightmare on Grayson for fifteen years. It features detailed photographs and descriptions of displays, signs, 3-D murals, costume make-up, soft sculptures, animated props and sketches done by Gordon Wise at Nightmare on Grayson, Screamscapes, and various restaurants where he worked. Also featured is Wise's account of the 1998 San Antonio flood and its damage to the attraction.
