Historical Note

The UTSA Art Gallery was formed at the UTSA Main Campus in September 1982. Originally named the UTSA Teaching Art Gallery, it emphasizes teaching and exposing students first-hand to a variety of art forms. The purpose of the space is to have the gallery open to professors and instructors in order to bring their students in to enhance lectures on topics related to the exhibits. The space is open to both the public and students. It continues to function as a space of learning as it exhibits BFA and MFA works as well as curated non-student exhibits.
