Established in 1973, the College of Business was one of the first five colleges established at the University of Texas at San Antonio. Its first dean was E. D. Hodo, with subsequent deans including James F. Gaertner, Bruce Bublitz, Lynda Y. de la Viña, and Wm. Gerard (Gerry) Sanders.
The College of Business has overseen a number of research institutes, including the Institute for Studies in Business (ISB), the Center for Studies in Business, Economics, and Human Resources, the Human Resources and Development Program, Center for Global Entrepreneurship, and the Center for Innovation and Technology Entrepreneurship (CITE).
This collection contains three accessions: 2002-003, 2010-013, and 2015-008. The 2002-003 accession contains reports created by various research institutes of the College of Business, including the Institute for Studies in Business (ISB), the Center for Studies in Business, Economics, and Human Resources, and the Human Resources and Development Program. Additional reports were created in cooperation with College of Business centers; the Hispanic Research Center teamed with the ISB to create several of the reports.
The reports primarily concern the social sciences, including research reports on commerce, labor, industry, economic history and conditions, and finance. Other topics include American and Texas history, technology, psychology, and special aspects of education. Some bibliographies are included among the reports.
The 2010-013 accession consists of annual reports and sample letterhead from the college.
The 2015-008 accession contains materials related to the college’s study abroad programs in London and Mexico in the 1990s.
This collection is housed at UTSA's Hemisfair Campus and must be accessed via the Institute of Texan Cultures Special Collections Reading Room. To request access, please use ourCollections Request Form.
