The Linda Pritchard Papers pertain to her academic career at UTSA and her research on women in relation to economic development and to religion in the United States. The collection includes administrative records, correspondence, committee files, planning materials, and research articles.
The papers span the years 1974-1998 and are organized into four series: 1. Women’s History Week, 2. Organizations, 3. Administrative Files, and 4. Research.
Dr. Pritchard was one of the co-founders of Women’s History Weekat UTSA (along with Dr. Susan Smulyan). Subsequently, half of the collection (1.5 linear feet) consists of documents related to Women’s History Week activities from 1986-1996. Other materials relate to organizations that Dr. Pritchard was a member of, including SALGA (San Antonio Lesbian and Gay Assembly) and the San Antonio Chapter of the National Organization for Women. A small number of administrative files are concerned with the development of a women’s studies program at UTSA. The remainder of the collection is research files and articles related to public policy, child care, sexuality, and identity.
