![]() A Guide to the Anne Bufton Collection, 2000 and undated
Historical NoteAnne Bufton, born in 1899, rose to national prominence through her dedication to helping others through community service. Claiming she was 18, Bufton joined the Women's Royal Naval Air Service during World War I in 1915. She was a 30-year member, and past president (1962-1964) of the Women's Overseas Service League, a national organization of women who served overseas during times of military conflict. Return to the Table of Contents Scope and Content NoteThe collection consists of a computer printout of a digital image of Anne Bufton in uniform on a train departing from Merheim, Germany in 1919, and an August 8, 2000 article from the Camas-Washougal Post-Record newspaper on Bufton's life.
