Dr. Benjamin Borroum Shaver, son of Lillie Terrell Shaver, was born in San Marcos, Texas, on June 17, 1914. The Shaver family moved to San Antonio when Benjamin Shaver turned twelve years old. Dr. Shaver was still a practicing physician at age 90 at the NABI Biomedical Center in San Antonio.

The collection includes a green photograph album (circa 1890s), holding a large number of older pictures (some of which are identified). This photo album was presented to Lillie Terrell Shaver, a former principal of a public school in Greenville, Texas. There are also two loose photographs, one dated 1956 and the other undated. The collection also contains a 1932 San Antonio Junior College yearbook. The yearbook belonged to Ben Shaver and is initialed or autographed by some of his friends with a few notes addressed to him. A final piece in the collection is a dance invitation, at the New York University gymnasium, dated 1903.
