Brief Biographical Sketch

Richard Paul Schaedel was born in 1920 and died in 2005. Schaedel earned a B.A. degree in Anthropology from the University of Wisconsin in 1942, and a Ph.D. in anthropology from Yale University in 1952. He served in the military during World War II, worked for the State Department, and joined the University of Texas in 1960.
