Historical Note

The memorial and tribute to Chicana feminist theorist poet Gloria Anzaldúa, who died in 2004, was held October 22 and 23, 2004, at various venues in Austin, Texas. Tribute events were sponsored by the University of Texas' Center for Mexican American Studies (CMAS), Center for Women's and Gender Studies, College of Liberal Arts, Graduate School, Interim Gender and Sexuality Center, Center for African and African American Studies, Center for Asian American Studies, Office of the Dean of Students, and Américo Paredes Center, and ALLGO, Resistencia Bookstore, Red Salmon Arts, BookWoman, and the City of Austin Commission for Women.
