Biographical Note

Milly Richards Stone Gray (1800-1851) was born in Virginia. Her husband, William Fairfax Gray, served as a land agent and attended the Convention of 1836 at Washington-on-Brazos. Her family settled in Houston in 1837, and she is buried in Glenwood Cemetery.

Scope and Contents

The Milly R. Gray diary, 1832-1840, consists of a typescript copy of Gray's diary describing her family's life in Viginia, as well as their journey to Texas in 1838. Gray's original diary is held by the Rosenberg Library in Galveston, Texas.
