Biographical Note

Grover C. Boswell (1888-1953) was a well-known Texas educator. He was the dean of McMurry College in Abilene and president of Weatherford College and Ranger Junior College. In his 45 years of education, he served as school superintendent at Ranger, Megargel, Ringgold, Byers, and McLean. Boswell was a Methodist steward for 37 years and a long-time Rotarian, serving as president of both the Weatherford and Ranger Clubs.

The Grover C. Boswell papers, 1894, 1921-1953, contain personal records, speeches, correspondence, and newspaper clippings spanning 45 years of Boswell's career as an educator and Rotarian. Newspaper clippings from various sources describe operational changes at Weatherford College and Ranger Junior College, Rotarian events, and local programs from the Methodist Church.

Correspondence, notes, and biographical sketches by Boswell, president of Weatherford College and professor, relate to a biographical study of Milton Koger Little (1852-1942), a Methodist clergyman who served as circuit rider and local pastor at Lanham in Hamilton County; Waco; Thornton in Limestone County; Corsicana; Waxahachie; Fort Worth; Vernon; Abilene; Belton; and Weatherford (1876-1922).
