Biographical Note

Beverly G. Martin was born on June 23, 1932 in Emporia, Kansas. After graduating from Emporia State University, Martin taught at Grape Bend Middle School for four years and then moved to Austin. She taught speech in the University of Texas at Austin Department of Speech Communication for 30 years. A lifetime member of the Texas Speech Communication Association, Martin additionally served as the Association's archivist from 1975 to 1990. She was also a member of the UT University Ladies Club and the Assistance League of Austin. She died in Austin on January 8, 2016.
