Biographical Note

The son of prominent businessman and politician Joseph Kennedy and brother to John and Ted Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy (1926-1968) served as Attorney General under his brother and as Senator from New York. In 1968, he ran for the Democratic presidential nomination. After winning the California primary on June 5, Kennedy was shot by Palestinian Sirhan Sirhan in Los Angeles, and died the following day.
