Scope and Contents

Louis Melcher's collodion prints document rural life in Central Texas, ca. 1900. Included are photographs of cotton farms, homes, businesses, social gatherings, and activities, merchants, school children and families. Some photographs document a heavy snowfall, a baseball game and beekeeping.
