The Greg D. Box photograph collection consists primarily of photographs of oil
workers, drilling equipment, and oil fields in Sour Lake, Texas, dating about
1900-1910. While the majority of the images are of oil fields, there is one image of
a fire at the Sour Lake National Bank. Photographer E. O'Boyle of Humble, Texas, is
credited with creating one image; all others have unknown creators. All of the
photographs are mounted.

Restrictions on Access
Materials do not circulate, but may be used in the Sam Houston Regional Library and
Research Center reading room. Materials will be retrieved from and returned to
storage areas by staff members.
Restrictions on Use
Under the Copyright Act of 1976 as amended in 1998, unpublished works are protected
for the life of the author plus 70 years. The term of copyright for published
material varies. Researchers are responsible for complying with U.S. Copyright Law
(Title 17 U.S.C.).
Technical Requirements
Researchers are required to wear gloves provided by the Sam Houston Regional Library
and Research Center staff when reviewing photographic materials.
