VOCES Oral History Project Partners

The project has entered into loose collaborations with several organizations at the national and regional/local levels. Most of the partnerships have helped the project in interview-gathering.

But other informal collaborations have also been undertaken, in which the project provides material to other groups involved in documentation of WWII and/or of Latinos, mostly for educational purposes.

Groups the project has helped

Those collaborations include the Japanese American National Museum's Center for the Preservation of Democracy, for images and text for an exhibit, Fighting for Democracy.

Go For Broke Education Center, in southern California, which has worked to document the experiences of Japanese Americans serving in segregated units during WWII. The VOCES Oral History Project provided material from its own teachers guide as Go For Broke sought to include Latinos in its high school materials. (2006)

The Air Force History and Museums program, for a display of WWII veterans. The project provided photographs and information for the exhibit. A poster was published using the project information.

History Matters — Created by the American Social History Project / Center for Media and Learning (Graduate Center, CUNY) and the Center for History and New Media (George Mason University). The VOCES Oral History Project provided audio excerpts from interviews regarding Latino civil rights advancements. The material on this site is intended to help high school teachers and students.
