Angus Buie Family Papers, 1808, 1811, 1825-1830
Angus Buie (1775-1829) was born in Moore County, North Carolina. He married Mahalia Jones (1792- ) in approximately 1806. The two had six children, Ann Bowie (1807-1873), David Buie (1811-1880), Sara Jeanette Buie (1813-1879), Mahala Buie (1814-1878), Milton Buie (1815- ), and John Buie (1816-1874). In 1829, Buie died in Catahoula Parish, Louisiana.

The Angus Buie family papers, 1808, 1811, 1825-1830, includes legal and financial documents concerning a bill for shaving (1808); the sale of a horse to Buie of Catahoula Parish, Louisiana, by Stephen Gano (1811); debts owed by Buie to Joseph A. Paterson and others; sale of land by Buie to Henry Humble (1827); and receipts from family members for amounts drawn on Buie's estate.
