![]() Myles Collier Stewart papers, 1919-1939Biographical NoteMyles Collier Stewart (1896-1938) was born in Columbus, Georgia, the son of Dr. William Weaver Stewart and Euphan Marshall Collier Stewart. He married Ella Hoke Levy Stewart in 1928. Stewart mustered into service in Fort Bliss, Texas, in 1917 and served in the 18th Infantry, First Division. His unit saw service in locations including Sommerville, the Aisne-Marne offensive, and the Meuse-Argonne offensive. Stewart received five battle stars for major offensive and defensive actions, and a Silver Star citation from divisional headquarters. Stewart died in San Antonio, Texas.
