Abstract: Charles Umlauf, renowned artist and sculptor, served on the faculty of the UT Art Department for 40 years, retiring as professor emeritus in 1981. He married Angeline Allen, whom he met at the Art Institute of Chicago, in 1937. The couple donated their home and studio, along with 168 pieces of art and sculpture, to the city of Austin in 1985. The collection is comprised of 8 cassette tapes of oral history interviews with the Umlaufs conducted by Sheree Scarborough in 1992.
