A Guide to the J.D. Williams Papers, ca.1945
J.D. Williams participated in World War II as part of the 35th Infantry Division. This Division arrived over Omaha Beach, France, on July 5-8, 1944, and was in Hannover, Germany, for occupation duty when hostilities were declared ended on May 7, 1945. They fought the campaigns of Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes-Alsace and Central Europe.
The J.D. Williams papers comprise a typed chronology of his experiences during World War II. This is a copy of the chronology donated to the National D-Day Museum in New Orleans, Louisiana.
