Jacob Schussler Papers, 1850-1890
Farmer and Stockman Jacob Schussler (1840-1929) was born in Bonfield, German province of Wuerttemburg, and moved to Texas at age five. Shussler and his family were the earliest settles of Cherry Hill Spring, giving it its name. Schussler resided there until adulthood when he moved to Mason County and soon married his wife, Francis Hick, with whom he had seven children.

Correspondence, and business records compose the Schussler Papers, 1850-1890, documenting family business and personal matters. Correspondence is written in German and presumably from his family. Business records are comprised of contracts, bills, and receipts, primarily concerning items purchased and monies received.
