Biographical Note

W. C. Tully was a resident of Moulton, Gonzales County, Texas, in the mid 19th century. A member of the Native American Party, Tully also created Tully's Liniment, a remedy for common maladies including screwworm, bed bugs, corns, burns, wounds, and fistula. He had a brother, H. P. Tully, who lived in Mt. Carmel, Fleming County, Kentucky.

Scope and Contents

The W. C. Tully Letter, 1855, contains a four-page letter and a three-page typed transcript of the letter from W. C. Tully to his brother, H. P. Tully. The letter expresses Tully's concern at not hearing from his brother in some time and mentions the death of their father and the birth of Tully's son. Additionally, in the letter Tully requests a shipment of his brother's crops from Kentucky and conveys the many uses for Tully's Liniment.
