The papers contain much of the business and financial correspondence of the Nagle's various companies, and other papers relevant to the operation of the companies.

Biographical Note

N. J. Nagle was a cotton merchant in the early 1900s in Texas. N. J. Nagle and company sold cotton and bought and sold land in Texas to both domestic and foreign buyers. Nagle was also involved in several other companies in Texas, including the Heincken and Vogelsang Co., the Esperanza Livestock and Land Co. (Dallas), and the Palestine Crate and Basket Co. (Palestine).

Scope and Contents

Correspondence, financial documents, memo books, photographs, land records, legal records, and maps comprise the N. J. Nagle Papers (1900-1949), which document the business dealings of N. J. Nagle, C. J. Sorrels, and other Nagle family members. The papers contain much of the business and financial correspondence of Nagles' various companies, and other papers relevant to the operation of the companies. In addition, the papers relate to the business affairs of Eula C. Nagle, other family members, and the Nagle Estate.
