Scope and Contents

The Joyce Snodgrass Papers document both Joyce's time as an employee of the Austin Access television network, and the campaigns and activities of the Austin city council members in the 1980s. The bulk of the collection is made up of newspaper articles concerning the city council elections in 1985 and 1988, with a special focus on Max Nofziger (whom Snodgrass supported) during those years. Fliers, brochures, and broadsides are included in Max Nofziger's campaign materials. There are also newspaper articles concerning the South Texas Nuclear Project, especially how the city council handled the project and the public opinion of it. Austin Access training and workshop materials show Joyce's continuing education while with the network, and notes, schedules, and other work documents exhibit her time as a producer there as well.
