Administrative History

The Austin Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce or AGLCC was founded in 1997 in Austin, Texas, as a professional networking group after a three year transition of originally being known as the Stonewall Chamber of Commerce. In 2004, the AGLCC became one of the founding members of the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) with representation on the Council of Chambers and Business Organizations in 2008-2009 and 2013-present. AGLCC hired its first full-time staff member in December 2015, and opened its first office. In 2017 the AGLCC rebranded and changed its name to the Austin LGBT Chamber of Commerce to include the contributions of the Bisexual and Transgender communities to our queer economy.
