The W. N. Patterson Endowed Book Fund

The Patterson Endowed Book Fund honors W. N. "Pat" Patterson who was born in Austin, Texas in 1906 and died in 1991. He received a degree in electrical engineering in 1924 and a B.B.A. degree in 1926, both from The University of Texas at Austin. He helped raise money for the original Memorial Stadium as a volunteer fundraiser. He was proud of having attended the UT-Aggie Game (in Austin and College Station) each year from 1926 to 1990.

The benefactors of this endowment are his widow and his daughter. Mrs. Patterson is a graduate of the Texas State College for Women (now Texas Woman's University). She married Mr. Patterson in 1931. Their daughter received her B.A. and M.A. degrees from the University of Texas at Austin and her Ph.D. from the University of London. The Patterson Endowed Book Fund supports the acquisition of materials for the Nettie Lee Benson Latin American Collection.
